I think VB’s constant SG references are a way of saying that she still loves the girls and wishes she had the heart to join them for a reunion, but girl, that last nail is on that coffin. Let her be.

I just think it's weird that Spice Girl stans act like they are owed a re-union and that Victoria is committing some actual crime by refusing.

It's not weird. We aren't owed anything but if they all don't want to do it then leave it be. Also, there are so many other ways for them to give back to fans. Release the reunion tour (it exists)  and unreleased songs from prior albums where all 5 of you sang. It's actually not that hard. That would be a nice way to make the fans happy and not tarnish anything by having a four pieces reunion.

The 4 of them touring isn't going to tarnish anything though, unless it totally flops.

If this is truly last time they get together and its only 4. That's a shame. Call it tarnishing or whatever but it sucks.

It'll suck even more if one of them doesn't even want to be there though, and Victoria's refusal shouldn't dictate what the others can do.

Geri has been in Brighton today, and took a photo on the carousel where Spice Girls had one of their first photoshoots ❤️

But like why do you guys feel like your owed this? The band broke up almost twenty years ago. They have already done a reunion tour and more than most bands do post break-up. They are pretty much all doing other things and most of what you listed probably isn’t up to them.

I think a lot of the fan's frustration comes from the fact a lot of legacy artist's albums are rinsed for everything they're worth by the labels. It seems there's always a new repackage for some anniversary where as the Spice Girls never get this treatment and there have been many missed opportunities (particularly recently) where something could have happened to expand their catalogue beyond the two classic albums (and Forever) - like 20th anniversary editions of Spice and Spiceworld for example. It was nice to see the limited release of Spice on vinyl recently, and hopefully Spiceworld will follow.

It doesn't help that their entire legacy pretty much hangs on 2 albums worth of songs, and in terms of music this alone has managed to sustain their cultural impact beyond 20 years. Not many bands find themselves in that situation because they usually have many more albums under their belts before they split, so I can understand why some fans find it frustrating or feel like they owed something (even though they're not) because compared to other fanbases they have much less.

i need a new Emma album 😞i don't know why she stopped, she seemed passionate about it

She has been recording for something recently ❤️

There were rumours that it was a Christmas album, but people she's working with have said it's not.

I think part of it is because their last tour, for whatever reason, was cut short. There’s also the fact there was no culminating *thing* for closure, like a recording or something to commemorate that,  not that it was something that was required.

Also, I feel fans have begun to have a whole expectation about artists celebrating their milestone anniversaries in a big way for every major milestone of their career. (Example: People being upset that there was only a video  from Britney’s team commerorating the release of BOMT, and not a whole promo campaign behind it.) They missed their 20th anniversary, but maybe fans still expected something and they’re clinging to this as it?

I don't know if the fans feel like the group owes them something, I think it's just frustration because of the girls' non stop hinting and talking about a possible reunion.

exactly this^

It would be one thing if the group said after the Olympics, "this is it, this is our final performance" and put a lid on it, but they've always left everything open ended.

It's clear that the majority of the group want to do something more and they've been waiting on Victoria for years in hopes she would change her mind, but I guess they figured they couldn't wait any longer.

It'll be interesting to see how they approach this with their announcement tomorrow and if they'll be calling this the final hurrah or not :hyper:

I think this reunion is a bad idea. I've been reading things about Mel B and watching her interviews... I'm honestly not sure she's currently mentally fit for a tour.

What have you been reading?

She's sought treatment for PTSD and addiction following her divorce, and has been alcohol and drug free at all her tests ordered as part of the divorce proceedings, so... I think she's fine.
